Things have been ever so slightly manic the last couple of weeks, first of all preparing for the Not On The High Street Winter Gift Guide to come out, my Location Location Location cufflinks are in it and I have to say that I love the photograph they have used....the response so far has been wonderful, far exceeding my expectiation :() hopefully my preparations will pay off, you can check out the gift guide here.

I have also been desperately trying to find some time to put my new girls necklaces and bracelets on the site...yeah they are finally there, this range came about when a friend asked if I could make her necklaces and bracelets for her neices who were to be flower girls, she had in mind something that reminded here of the daisy chain necklaces she made as a child.

This is what I came up with a gorgeous little trail of flowers all different and soooo sweet, the girls adored them and I have to say I do too, a couple of the ladies at the wedding have requested them in adult sizes, so they are available too, why should the kids get all the sweet stuff!!

There are also some additons on the website for ladies, firstly we have 'Bolle' gorgeous artisan made hand blown glass beads complimented with darkened silver, this will soon be available in a bracelet as well.

There are also two beautiful charm bracelet....perfect for gifts, go on give him a hint....after all it is not long to Christmas!!!

I have had the most wonderful coloured Chinese Chrysoprase for ages and had completely forgot what I intended to use these for, yesterday I was having a clear out and found the other beads I had wanted to uses with them....gorgeous, rich and dark ebony rondelles, combined simply with sterling silver, how could I forget this combination, it is luscious....I love them and they look good enough to eat!!

Where has the sun gone....it is pouring with rain here and it is freezing!!!

I have been working on comissions the last few days but was drawn in a completely different direction when my eye caught beads that I had purchased a while ago and had to make something with them, so here is the result....the beads are by the wonderful Mindy McGregor at Moogin Beads, you can find the finished bracelet here, I have deliberatly kept the design simple...with beads as beautiful as these you need very little else.

Following on from the success of my 'Location Location Location' personalised cufflinks I have had so many enquiries for necklaces in the same design I have decided to make these available, you can find them here.

I have been working on expanding some of my ranges over the past couple of weeks these include lots more colour options for my best selling Colourstuff Bangle...this will be available in a wider selection of colours and with the option of adding more beads to the bangle....the additonal colours will be available from Friday from the website.

I can't believe that it is almost the end of April already, the months are flying by....I have been kept busy over the past few weeks with more commission orders, they are all but clear now so I have some space again to take more orders, just contact me through the website if you have something special in mind.

I love clusters in earrings and after seeing some beautiful tissue pompoms featured recently on etsy front page, I decided to do my own little take on pompoms but in earrings....here is what I came up with...hope you like them, I love them.

I have been working on a lot of commissions over the last few weeks, but I finally managed to get some photographs of some new additons to the website...so here goes....Carmello bracelet & earrings these are gorgeous beads by Claire at Rowanberry Glass, and they are soooo nice.

I love these little mallow earrings the colour is quite simply divine, the softest mallow pink vintage glass beads, complimented with oxidised silver......Lovely!!

February Already

So sorry it has been quite a while since I have managed to update on here, after a busy run up to Christmas time just got away from me, we then decided that we would have a bit of a break......it was wonderful 14 days in the Dominican Republic just relaxing and soaking up the sun, but what a shocker to come back to even more snow.

I tried to get all artistic with my photos...(this did not work) but here are a couple just to show how lovely it was...oh I wish I was back there....(the first one is the artistic one)!!!!

I did manage to buy some Larimar while I was there so watch out for some designs these stones...here is a bracelet I made with the stones I bought on a previous trip there...and it really is just the colour of the ocean....beautiful!!!!

Disaster!!!

Oh this has been such a bad weekend....firstly with my day all planned out on Friday the first thing on my list was to buy ink for the printer and petrol for the car which was nearly on red!!! I set off only to get half way there as I was hit by an articulated lorry.... went right into the side of me spun me round into the line of the oncoming traffic...reeeeallly scary, I am ok just a bit shaken up, but the car is not so good....can it get any worse...oh yes it can...

After I had tried to calm down a bit I tried to get onto my website...only to be faced with my site not being there...it was eventually sorted out...problems with the host company, so apologies if any of you wondered where I had gone.

As you can imagine I was pretty frazzled by this time...but had to laugh in between the crying as I called to tell my mum and dad about the accident she checked I was all ok told me to have a nice bath and asked quite innocently what type of truck it was that hit me...my response was I don't know but it was big....mum's response was 'no what was written on the side of it', trying to hold it together I replied Anchor Butter, thinking what does that matter, 'I am never buying that again' was her response.

I couldn't not laugh!!!

Hi everyone I can't believe how long it has been since I have found the time to get on here and let you know what I have been up to....time just seems to run away from me these days...anyway I have been working on loads of commissions in the past month...it has been great and have had some wonderful feedback from the items I have already sent out...

I have also been working on some lampwork bracelets among other things here are two of my latest...'Going Underground and 'Willow'.......I adore these beads, they are from a wonderfully talented British Artist......Gorgeous!!!!!!!

It has always been my intention since I taking a few lampwork classes to set up a studio and make my own beads.....well I finally took the plunge.....Last week I went to Harrogate Bead Fair and decided to purchase the kit from Tuffnell Glass, I haven't set it up yet but hope to get this done shortly and find some time to actually make some beads....I can't wait to get started on it.

This picture says it all really during a walk around our village caught this picture of the cows too chilled to do anything but lie in the afteroon sunshine.....the other pictures are just a couple of things that caught my eye..

Oh and a piccy of a pair of earrings I made this morning....Elemental (want to say my dear Watson here) but that would just be wrong... anyway these earrings hammered rings encased with wire and a trail of tiny beads within the hoops, they hang from my handforged sterling earwires.

I cannot believe it is the last day of July already...where has our summer gone....anyway apologies for not posting for a while I have been a bit under the weather.....here is a selection of some of the things that I have been making lately....First up is

'Summer Sky' The colours of this remind me of dull summer mornings when the clouds are heavy and full of brooding colour, this is reflected in the labradorite, which is full of blue through to gold flashes, these cluster above a gorgeous plump and beautifully faceted Lemon Quartz...this will be available through my website from tomorrow.

'Sweetheart' Pendant is a simple sterling silver heart that hangs from a silver trace chain...so simple but soo effective.

'Lola' ~ Delicious Sea Bamboo are delicately hand wire wrapped around goldfilled hoops. Elegant and distinctive…and such a wonderful coral pink colour.

'Elina' ~ A gorgeous handmade borosilicate glass beadis topped with a cluster of beautiful gemstones including, Lemon Quartz, Apatite, Citrine, Moonstone, Amethyst and Blue Topaz....a beautiful soft green Fluorite gemstone teardrop topped with a sterling silver bead hangs beneath.

And Lastly 'Odette' ~ A hand wirewrapped teardrop holds beautiful scapolite, Iolite & Bi colour quartz gemstones all topped with coils of fine sterling silver wire...oxidised to compliment the delicious colours...this will be available on my website store shortly.

The sore fingers have been a result of some intensive wire wapping this week, I have been working on some new designs, some have worked some not quite as expected, here are some of the results, first of all is 'Semeru' lovely hand woven sterling silver ellipse hoops in either shiny silver or oxidised version.

'Talicia' are beautiful hand woven earrings in a different shape this time and with the additon of gorgeous Peridot & Carnelian......I love these.

The next two pairs are just a pretty but a bit easier on the fingers to make, lovely little goldfill hearts hang from gently curving earwires, these are available in either the polished version or a random bubble version.....these are great to wear & light as a feather.........

Yes, my new stamps have arrived...just haven't had any time to play about with them yet...maybe this week...I did manage to make a few things this week though 'Elysium' beautiful sparkly black spinel marquise cut stones with goldfill wire & hoops...love these they are so elegant.

'Theda Noir' these are my most requested earrings, this pair again is in sparkling black spinel...yummy....seem to have a black thing going on lately.

And from my satin silver range I have added some new 'Satin Hearts' & 'Satin discs'...these are great for everyday wear.

Sorry it has been so long since my last update....I am back from my holiday feeling refreshed and full of design ideas, Egypt was wonderful....I just need to find the time now to turn the ideas into designs.

I thought it was about time that I put my silversmithing course to good use and have been making a variety of pendants this week here are a few of them 'Sunshine on Silver' a hammered sterling silver rectangle with a beautiful Aragonite stone set at the bottom.

'Dot to Dot' a hammered disc with a random pattern of polka dots and finally 'Hidden Secrets' a clamshell pendant which conceals a hand wirewapped carnelian briolette inside....I have one of these myself and love it. These are all available on my website at the moment.

I have had so much fun making them and cannot wait to my new stamps and tools to arrive to try out some more ideas......

Hi everyone,

I have had a great time this week making up some new designs and some that are a variation of loved designs....here we go....first off is 'Suomi' which is Finnish for Finland...couldn't be a better name really for this simple necklace with 5 round spectrolite stones, but what stones...these are beautiful, wonderful depth and flashes...

'Merna'...This is a variation of my much requested 'Theda' earrings, these are so versatile and light to wear, this pair was designed with Apatite gemstones on goldfill hoops, but these can be made with most gemstone, contact me if you are interested in a pair just for you....'Merna' is available on my website now.

'Caspian' is a stunning Labradorite pendant with wonderful blue fire flashes, hand wirewrapped in sterling silver and complimented with a cluster of charms, Blue Obsidian, sterling silver and freshwater pearl...

Here are a couple of the designs that I have been working on this week, more of those luscious gemstones, 'Lime Salsa' is a really vibrant pendant with gorgeous boro glass, gemstones and a beautiful large freshwater lime green pearl mmmm lovely..... The 'Lotus Bud' earrings are a design that I have made before, but I love these Karen Hilltribe siver lotus buds, so what better an excuse to make them with these vibrant and luscious Rhodolite Garnets with lots of lovely sparkle......Hope everyone has a lovely bank holiday...Bye for now x

A commission set... 'Emma' earrings and a long tassel pendant with cluster of keshi pearls and flashy labradorite....I love this pendant, my favourite look at the moment.

I have also had time to make 'Auorora' a bracelet with beautiful artisan made borosilicate glass beads combined with brushed silver beads, these beads are gorgeous and have a stunning range of colours encapsulated inside.......and the lovely 'Gossamer Earrings, Artisan made silver lined cubes sit beneath a cluster of shimmering Apatite, Moonstone, Blue Topaz and Amethyst gemstones.....delicious.

I recently had a request for some felted earrings, this is the outcome.....'Little Sprouts' & 'Glace', handmade merino wool felted beads, in a wide variety of colours hang from sterling silver earwires and come in their own handmade muslin bag.

I have been having a few days off whilst waiting on new supplies, at last some of them finally arrived, beautiful borosilicate lampwork, with a wonderful wave design which I have complimented with luscious gemstones, this pair of earrings are called Nyquist, I have been reliably informed by my husband this this is the name a wave form.....hence the name...whooo very technical.

This necklace design is called Cassis, a luscious gemstone tassel necklace with a lovely Rose Quartz dew drop gemstone.... both of these new designs are available on my website from this evening(Tuesday).

I love Hemimorphite it is such a calming shade of blue, the rondelles I have used in these earrings have a lovely milky smooth finish and look great with the dark grey earwires, these have been made with just one piece of sterling silver with organic shaped balls, I think they compliment the simplicity of the stone perfectly.

I have also made these gorgeous vibrant blue pearl earrings 'Persian Indigo' complimented by creamy keshi pearls with handmade sterling silver ball headpins

I have up until now my 'Colourstuff' range has only been available exclusively through a local outlet, recently there has been such a high demand for this range that I have decided to add it back onto my website, this range is quite simply a showcase for yummy coloured lampwork beads in a wonderful array of shades and colours, the range has always included earrings, necklaces & pendants, but I am thinking of adding some bracelets to compliment these, they are so easy to wear, I seem to make an extra pair of earrings from every set of beads I buy just for myself....that really has to stop, I am running out of space to store them..... available on my website from today.

Not the drink unfortunately but these delicious champagne Keshi pearls, they have the most amazing lustre & irredescence to them gorgeous...........I decided to make just a cluster of these beauties in both earrings and a necklace, now I am not someone who wears a lot of pearls but I could definately make an exception here.

I have been mainly sorting our all of my supplies this week as I have bought some great new storage to try and get a bit more organised, the best bit about is is that when sorting out I have come across some beautiful supplies that I forgot I had, so I will be being busy trying to put them to good use in some new designs this week.

I Couldn't resist the play on words with this pair of earrings, 'Blades of Glass' they are beautiful handmade artisan glass from a very talented US artist, with blades of different colours captured inside the glass, if fact they do look quite spring like as well....although snow here again today so I am maybe being a bit ambitious there..........hope you like them. You know when you order supplies sometimes that something is really special, well my eyes nearly popped out of my head this week as a pair of labradorite gemstone drops that I had ordered arrived, wow they are quite simply stunning, they are 3cm long and are amazing with loads of flash but a stunning greeny flash not blue.

I have probably mentioned here before that I love gorgeous lampwork and boroscilicate glass beads, I received a new order a few days ago and I have got to say these beads are gorgeous, I love organic looking beads and these hit the nail right on the head for me, the colours are absolutely beautiful, so much so it is a wrench to let this bracelet go, it is called Organic and is available on my website at the moment....I hope you like it!!

With the snowy weather as I said in my last post what else can you do but make jewellery. Here is some of the results, hope you enjoy them they are all available on my website at the moment.

We have Sphere, Posy, lovely Theda and Chloe. I have also been working on some silver jewellery just as a preparation before I go on my silversmithing course, I am looking forward to this so much, hopefully this will let me combine the lampwork course I went on last year with what I learn on this course, thats the idea anyway so fingers crossed, will post a picture of my first pendant later.

I also picked up these delicious vintage lucite grey beads in a wonderful misty grey, combined them with silver and oxidised them, I love how this one looks and it is light as a feather!!

My website is currently being re-designed and I am desperately trying to get everything on there as quickly as possible, almost there, hopefully it won't be too long before I can unveil it possibly over the next 10 -14 days, I can't wait, will keep you updated on how it is going.

A quick catch up

Sorry I havn't manage to post for a while, I have been preparing for my new exhibition at Piece Hall Art Gallery & Visitor Centre in Halifax, bye the way check out the link to this absolutely beautiful piece of history right in the centre of Halifax. My jewellery will be showcased here as part of the Christmas Crafts event from 15th November to 4th Jan, I received special invites to the event to give out to friends and was over the moon to see they had used my lush earrings on the official merchandising that will be used to promote the event Yipee, sorry about the poor picture will update shortly, but hopefully you can see them on the left.

I have also been making a variety of different designs over the last couple of weeks, here are my latest fine silver earrings, I love these, they are lightly textured and have a little stem & leaf design on them, they will be on my website sometime this week.

I have also been making some goldfilled earrings with luscious Tundra Sapphires, they have such delicious colours and catch the light wonderfully, there is also the beautiful Emma, stunning Whisky Quarts and creamy Keshi Pearls topped with coils of gold wire.

I may have mentioned on here before that I adore boro lampwork glass beads, these are my latest lampwork designs, the beads are wonderful, wispy & ethereal, they are by lampwork artist Caroline Cash and were a dream to work with, I love the way the oxidised silver works so well with the tones of the beads.
I think that is all I have for the moment, and I will hopefully be able to post a bit more regularly in future.

New items for sale.

I have put quite a few new items on my site over the past week or so, here are just a few. First up is 'Winter Blues', the blue in these Blue Obsidian is gorgeous it is so vibrant, didn't want to do too much with these, just them on there own with silver is enough.

I seem to have a thing for blue at the moment here is another recent addion 'Raindrops'.

I have had this focal bead for ages just waiting for the right design to use it in, finally decided that tourmaline worked best on a simple chain, I love the organic look of the bead, was in two minds whether to keep this one or not....

1.I am originally from Scotland, I now live in a village just outside Halifax, I am married have, 1 son & 1 daughter and a cat called Heidi.

2.I hate butterflies, they frighten the life out of me!!!!! weird I know.

3.I hate ironing!!!!need I say any more.

4.I have been taking lampwork lessons from the wonderful Mike Pool at Tillerman Beads, what a great teacher, hopefully I will be able set up a small studio next year and try to make some beads, it is so addictive, I am hooked already.

5.Flew over Angel Falls in an 8 seater plane a couple of years ago, soooo scary but what an amazing experience.

6.I love going for walks in the rain.!!

7.My wardrobe is all arranged by colour OH thinks this is really weird, which it probably is, just can't bring myself to put the blues with the whites etc.NOoooooooo.

Well I have probably made myself look totally neurotic & weird or just boring now.

Chocolate Limes & Autumn!!

I have been selling these pendants for a while now through a local gallery, they have been so popular that I decided to add a few to my website. Chocolate Limes & Autumn which has all the colours of the coming season so the name suited it perfectly. You know some times when you find an item that you instantly love, and just for a change I am not talking about glass beads or gemstones, I came accross a wonderful etsy shop Littlebrownpen, they sell the most wonderful templates for gift tags, cards etc, I fell in love with every single one of them but as I have a thing for dandelions I couldn't resist the windswept dandelion one, and it is even nicer than in the pictures, so pop along to Nichole & Evan's store, http://www.littlebrownpen.etsy.com/ and have a look, you won't be able to resit them.

Occassions Collection

These 'Delice' earring are part of my occassions collection, I specifically had weddings in mind when I designed these particular ones, but you could wear them on many occassions, beautiful clear crystal cubes with cream freshwater pearls in differing sizes, they really are lovely :), I will be adding more to this collection shortly.

make a lot of my vintage typewriter key bracelets and cufflinks as commissions, people have their own little codes to put into them whether it be dates or initals or variations of names, I love them as they are so personal, I have now got some stock of vintage cash register keys (the big old style registers from the US which seem to have a key for everthing) another recent commission was for a pair of these, they worked so well and I have had a few more request that I thought I would show a couple of pairs that I have on my website for sale at the moment, they are just a bit different and they come in lovely packaging perfect for gents gifts.

I have been working on some new earrings this week some for my website, my etsy store & some for the exhibition I am in as they are selling out. I love these new Mandalay earrings, although they are time consuming to make the end result is worth it, the name is so luscious sounding, just like the earrings!!

Another pair is orchid, I have had these beautiful beads for ages just waiting for the right inspiration, and here they are.

I also worked on this beautiful botanical necklace with wonderful gemstones & lampwork beads, I am totally taken with wirewrapping jewellery at the moment, as I said before it is time consuming but totally addictive.

I finally got the Larimar bracelet finished, I am so pleased with it, the stones are absolutely beautiful, they are such a delicate colour, they do cost quite a bit but I think they are worth it they really are gorgeous, I have kept the design simple, with stones like these you don't need much else!!!.

The showcase of my jewellery is going well at Bankfield Museum, a wonderful building with a long history in Halifax. The jewellery looks great in the display cases, not something you get to see all the time when you sell online, the rest of the exhibition is wonderful, the artists on show are truly inspiring, if you thought tapestry was old and dull think again this exhibition is wonderful & contemporary, I could visit every day......it really is worth a visit so if you are in the area try to pop along......

I have been working on my website the last few days making some tweaks here & there and generally tidying it up, but I did manage to get some gemstone shopping done on Friday, (big favourite of mine).
Larimar is a beautiful stone that is found in the Dominican Republic, I came across it on a visit to the island and had to get some, although that did prove quite difficult and costly as the stone is so beautiful and quite rare, it has the most beautiful blue colouration, now I just need to work out what to do with the stones, check back and hopefully I should have something to show you by the end of the week.

I almost forgot this pendant/necklace that I also made a few days ago, how could I forget this beautiful colour, vibrant purple Howlite, with freshwater pearls.

Commissions

Sorry I havn't posted for a while, I have been so busy with commissions, which I never complain about as I love working on them, just not enough hours in the day to get everything else done though!!!!

I did manage to get a couple of thing added to my website at the weekend, a pair of earrings called 'Pagoda', now it is probably just me but I thought with the beautiful beadcaps they looked just like a minature pagodas, but I may have just lost it completely......at the minute they are listed in my shop on Etsy, you can see them there, I will get them onto my website asap. I also have a beautiful pair of handmade lampwork teardrop glass bead hung simply on sterling hoop earrings, again they are on Etsy, but will get them onto my site as well.

My other item is 'summer garden' vermeil gold necklace, I have held onto this focal bead for such a long time and it fell into my 'special bead' category, I finally came up with what I think is a design that compliments it to perfection.

Just wanted to say do feel free to comment on anything you see here, I would love to hear your feedback/comments.

Here are some photos of designs that I have been working on this week, I love the boro lampwork beads in the charm bracelet, they are wonderful, full of depth and colour.

I also have jewellery in a showcase at the moment at Bankfield Museum in Halifax, it is part of the British Tapestry National Exibition and conference, it runs from June to September so I am trying to make some pieces to send along there at the moment, don't know where the time goes....

Hi,

I am new to posting a blog although I do have a journal area on my website, so please be patient will me until I have the hang of it, I have seen loads of sites with blogs on them and thought I would give it a go.

I will be using this to update you with my 'goings on', what I am up to and what I am making at the moment.
